First Things First - The Furry Fenomena

I am not sure precisely where to begin in regards to the deviantArt community. Now, don't get me wrong, I adore me some deviantArt itself. The concept of the site is perfect, and the website schematics work wonders. I love the way an artist's page is laid out and customizable and easy to navigate. That is not what has me pulling my hair out on a daily basis as I browse the site.
What is it, then? The majority of users are off their freakin' rockers. Please also note that I did not say all members, but... most. It seems that deviantArt has become an outlet for people to publish their most twisted fetishes as well as completely pervert their favorite comic/movie/video game/etc. through slash fan-fictions and fan-"art". I'll save the Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy pornography rant for another day.
Right now I kind of want to touch on one of the most confusing and often times disgusting phenomenon known as "furries". Now, the initial concept is interesting, people as hybrid animal type beings. Deviants take it to a whole new, sexually perverse, plane of existence. Big breasted, bare vagina-ed, sweating, pleading whores of the furry world are prominent.
Would you like an example? You know you do.
Now... the skill of this artist is ok. It's decent. But let's really take a good, long look at this chick. First of all, this piece was favorited 561 times as of today.
The artist says:
"This is one of those rare bits of work that I completed, sat back, looked over
and thought; "YES! THIS is PERFECT!". The linework on this turned out better
than I'd expected and the colour, especially on the hair and tail, sits nicely
with it.Looking at it again, a good 24 hours after completion, I think she could
do with a bit more clothing, just to make the main body a little more
interesting. I'm not gonna go back to it and risk ruining the piece

She could use "a bit more clothing," eh? How about... why the hell is this cat lady wearing nothing except what appears to be the tops of really tall boots? Of all of the articles of clothing a creature would choose to wear, why that particular piece? She isn't even wearing full boots that could possibly protect sensitive paws from being scraped. Oh, wait. She is also wearing the sleeves and collar of a shirt. Oh thank goodness her arms will be warm! Nevermind that her nips are going to be perpetually diamond-hard.
Notice, please, the expression. The most popular furries always appear quite vulnerable and surprised, as if someone had just presented them with "SURPRISEBUTTSECKS!!"
Oh, did I mention that the title of this little drawing is "Nice Tail"? No? That's because it's freaking stupid. It gets better though. Just browse http://jollyjack.deviantart.com/ for more splendidly ridiculous gratuitous breasts and asses. Of animals.
And he has over SIX MILLION pageviews. SIX MILLION! One of the greatest digital painters I have ever come across, http://dianae.deviantart.com/, only has 865,000!!!
THAT is precisely why I avoid "browsing" deviantArt unless I absolutely have to search for a particular type of painting.
